IMO Secretary-General impressed with AMC facilities

The Australian Maritime College was pleased to welcome International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary-General, Mr Koji Sekimizu, for a VIP tour of its campus and facilities.
Mr Sekimizu is in Australia to attend the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s Natship 2012 Conference in Melbourne, and made a special trip to Tasmania to visit AMC.
It was Mr Sekimizu’s second trip to the college and follows his engagement as guest speaker at AMC’s 2011 Maritime Forum.
IMO is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of marine pollution and ships (www.imo.org).
