MoU with Prefectura Naval Argentina

Admiral Oscar Adolfo Arce, Commandant of the Prefectura Naval Argentina, and Dr. Björn Kjerfve, President of WMU at the signing of the MoU on 2 July 2012 in Buenos Aires.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Academic Cooperation was signed on 2 July in Buenos Aires by Admiral Oscar Adolfo Arce, Commandant of the Prefectura Naval Argentina (PNA) and WMU President Björn Kjerfve. PNA is the Argentine Coast Guard and the Maritime Authority in charge of security and safety of life at sea as well as protection of the marine environment. The MoU will enable linkages in the fields of maritime affairs, oceanography, and new navigation technologies. Subject to the availability of resources, every effort will be made to encourage productive relationships and academic cooperation, as well as exchanges between interested students, faculty members, specialists and researchers of both institutions. For the same purpose, PNA will be host of study trips to Argentina organized by WMU.
