Prof. Jin meets Dr. Pinnock, Executive Director of Caribbean Maritime Institute in Shanghai Office

Prof. Jin Yongxing, IMLA’s Chair, has had a very constructive dialogue with Dr. Fritz H. A. Pinnock, Executive Director of Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI) located in Jamaica, in Shanghai Office on December 8th, 2015. After making a warm welcome speech to distinguished guest, Dr. Pinnock, Prof. Jin introduced the IMLA’s holistic status, including history, vision, structure, consultative status in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and annual academic conference etc. Prof. Jin also expressed the views hoping that not only IMLA and CMI could keep the frequent and effective collaboration and cooperation in the sea-related domain from now, but also via CMI, IMLA could establish an overall contact with the Maritime Education and Training (MET) community within the Caribbean region in the future. Dr. Pinnock extended his pleasure and honor to visit the IMLA’s Shanghai Office and Prof. Jin. He made a general introduction regarding the CMI and the MET activities in the Caribbean region. He believes that there will have an in-depth development of cooperation between IMLA and CMI, and the Caribbean MET institutions.
