Unveiling Ceremony of SMU-TUV Nord Crane & Offshore Machinery Joint Lab and Appointment Ceremony of Visiting Professor were Held

On June 30, the inauguration ceremony of SMU-TUV Nord Crane & Offshore Machinery Joint Lab and the appointment ceremony of visiting professor were held at SMU. Dr. Dirk Stenkamp, member of the Board of TUV Nord Group, Mr. Lex Boon, CEO of TUV Nord Group (Asia Pacific), Mr. Yang Wanfeng, Vice President of SMU, and relevant heads from Logistics Engineering College attended the ceremony.
Mr. Yang Wanfeng and Dr. Dirk Stenkamp jointly unveiled the SMU-TUV Nord Crane & Offshore Machinery Joint Lab.
After the unveiling ceremony, Prof. Yang Wanfeng granted Dr. Dirk Stenkamp the appointment certificate of visiting professor. Afterwards, Dr. Dirk Stenkamp gave a lecture about carbon fiber composite material, introducing the basic knowledge and future trend of composite material, which helped broadening the academic horizon of teachers and students.
Experts, scholars and technicians from SMU and TUV Nord have been jointly making efforts to build the Lab since the two sides signed the Memorandum of Understanding on December 9th, 2013. SMU-TUV Nord Crane & Offshore Machinery Joint Lab is established to build industry-university cooperation in the field of global port and marine heavy industry equipment and create favorable conditions for the development of technology market.
