Director of Technical Cooperation Division at the IMO Visits Shanghai Maritime University

During October 14th and 17th 2009, Mrs. Monica N. Mbanefo, Director of the Technical Cooperation Division at the International Maritime Organization visited Shanghai Maritime University.

Prof. Yu Shicheng, President of SMU and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU met Mrs. Mbanefo and her husband. Mrs. Mbanefo said the Training Workshop for the Principals of African Maritime Academies hosted by SMU last year has produced far-reaching significance, which in turn has drawn attention and won high praise from those in the field of international maritime education. She expressed her appreciation on the efforts made by SMU experts on the assessment mission to African maritime academies in September. President Yu expressed the hope that her visit would further the mutual understanding to expand the fields of cooperation between IMO and SMU.
 

On the evening of October 15th, Mrs. Mbanefo and her husband were invited to attend the SMU Centennial Special Performance in the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
